MPIF Technical Board Meets to Review Montreal Papers

The MPIF Tech Board met recently to review and select the Outstanding Technical Paper Awards from WorldPM2026 and AMPM2026 conferences that were held in Montreal. The final review is part of a thorough vetting process that includes review by the session chair, assigned reviewers, and Tech Board members.

Foroozan Forooghi, with co-authors Nana Ofori-Opoku and Mohsen Mohammadi, University of New Brunswick, received the 2026 Outstanding Poster Award for “Cracking in Additively Manufactured Tungsten” at the WorldPM2026 in Montreal. 

 

 

Michael (Mike) Marucci has joined Ametek Specialty Metal Products as Division Vice President & Business Unit Manager, responsible for leading the division's strategic direction and accelerating its continued growth. In this leadership role, he leads the production and delivery of the company's differentiated tube, strip and powder metal solutions, supporting customers across the aerospace and defense.

DSH Technologies LLC has relocated to Pineville, North Carolina, joining its sister company Elnik Systems LLC. This move reflects a shared vision between the two companies to streamline debinding/sintering services and manufacturing operations to support the metal parts manufacturing markets.

Plansee USA, Franklin, Massachusetts, announced the successful graduation of participants from its Manufacturing Training Center, marking a significant milestone in the professional development of future CNC machining specialists. Through a structured program combining classroom education with practical, real-world application, graduates developed expertise in machining processes, quality standards, workplace safety, and collaborative teamwork.

APMI News—APMI International Elevates 2026 Fellow

Rodney Brennen, president of Metco Industries, Inc., was named a 2026 Fellow by APMI International, the organization’s most prestigious award recognizing members for significant contributions to its mission and for exceptional expertise in the technology, practice, and business of the powder metallurgy industry. He was formally elevated to Fellow status during the WorldPM2026 in Montreal.
