CPMT Announces Axel Madsen Conference Grant Recipients

The Center for Powder Metallurgy (CPMT) is proud to announce the 2018 CPMT/Axel Madsen Conference Grant recipients for POWDERMET2018 & AMPM2018, June 17–20 in San Antonio. Each grant recipient will receive $1,500 to attend the full conferences and offset travel and lodging. The recipients are: James Adye, Dalhousie University; Katrina Johnston, Drexel University; Adam Mihalko, Gannon University; and Justin Plante, Laval University.

2018 PM Design Excellence Awards Submissions

Judging for the 2018 Powder Metallurgy (PM) Design Excellence Awards was recently completed at the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) headquarters. Every year since 1965, MPIF has sponsored the PM Design Excellence Awards, an awards competition in which parts fabricators from among MPIF’s member companies are invited to submit components that epitomize the possibilities inherent in powder metallurgy forming processes.

PM Champion to Receive Award for Helping Advance Technology Applications

Chad Spore, staff engineer, Enterprise Materials Engineering, John Deere Waterloo Works Drivetrain Operations, Waterloo, Iowa, has been selected to receive the Vanguard Award from the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF). The award recognizes powder metallurgy (PM) industry champions from the end-user community whose long-time promotion of the technology has contributed to the expansion of powder metal applications. Spore is only the second person to receive the award since its inception in 2014.

APMI International Names 2018 Fellows

APMI International's most prestigious award recognizes APMI members for their significant contributions to the goals, purpose, and mission of the organization as well as for a high level of expertise in the technology, practice, or business of the industry. The 2018 Fellow Award recipients will receive elevation to Fellow status at POWDERMET2018: International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials during the Industry Luncheon on June 19. The 2018 recipients are Stephen Mashl and Alberto Molinari.

MPIF Distinguished Service Award Recipients

The Metal Powder Industries Federation's (MPIF) Awards Committee has announced the recipients of the 2017 MPIF Distinguished Service to Powder Metallurgy (PM) Award that recognizes individuals who have actively served the North American PM industry for at least 25 years and, in the minds of their peers, deserve special recognition.
