The program committee for 10th International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials (Tungsten2020) has issued a “Call for Papers.” Refractory metals (W, Mo, Re, Ta, Nb, Os, Ir, Hf), their alloys and composites (including hardmaterials and cermets), are a unique family of materials. This conference seeks to address recent developments in the refractory and hardmetals field and will encompass refractory and hardmetal processing, microstructure, properties, and applications. Co-located with the World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials (WorldPM2020) and the Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy Conference (AMPM2020), this promises to be the largest global PM event of the year. All three co-located events will be held in Montréal, Canada, June 27–July 1, 2020, at the Montréal Convention Center.
The Metal Injection Molding Association (MIMA), a trade association that promotes metal injection molding (MIM) powders, components and products, is proud to announce the launch of its newly redesigned website at www.mimaweb.org. The new site features a modern design, improved functionality, and resources for potential MIM end users.
The powder metallurgy (PM) industry began 2019 facing a subdued business outlook. Red flags warned caution ahead. But first, let us begin with a review of 2018 posting modest growth for most PM sectors
The winners in the 2019 Powder Metallurgy (PM) Design Excellence Awards competition, sponsored by the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF), demonstrate outstanding examples of PM’s diversity. These component fabricators use PM’s flexibility to push forward new concepts and process controls, and demonstrate the inexhaustible well of capabilities PM can marshal in the service of component design. Designers continue to choose PM for critical applications such as auto engines and transmissions, medical devices, consumer products, hardware, and more.
Nine Grand Prizes and seven Awards of Distinction have been given in this year's competition.
