Dean Howard, PMT, president, North American Höganäs Co., a subsidiary of Höganäs AB, Hollsopple, Pennsylvania, has been elected the 30th president of the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF), succeeding John F. Sweet, PMT, FMS Corporation, Minneapolis, Minnesota. His two-year term began at the conclusion of the Federation’s annual Powder Metallurgy (PM) Management Summit and 75th Annual MPIF Business Meeting, October 26–28, 2019, in Miami, Florida.
The program committee for the 2020 World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials (WorldPM2020) has issued a “Call for Papers & Posters” covering the latest developments in powder metallurgy (PM) materials, processes, and applications. Held once every six years in North America, this is only the second time the that the WorldPM2020 Congress will be co-located with the Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy Conference (AMPM2020) and the International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials (Tungsten2020). All three co-located events will be held in Montréal, Canada, June 27–July 1, 2020, at the Montréal Convention Center.

The AMPM Conference has grown significantly since its debut in 2014 as the only conference focused on metal AM, and this year there will be an entire extra day of technical sessions. Co-located with the World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials (WorldPM2020) and the Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy Conference (AMPM2020), this promises to be the largest global PM event of the year.
