Gearing Up for POWDERMET2019 and AMPM2019

Be an Active Participant!

Save the date and plan to join the powder metallurgy (PM) and metal additive manufacturing (AM) industry in Phoenix, Arizona, June 23–26, 2019, for POWDERMET2019, the International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials, and the co-located conference AMPM2019, Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy. This year’s program is currently under development, but already an exciting program is lining up.

Three Days of Technical Sessions

The co-located conferences draw global PM and metal AM industry experts from all over the world. Last year, the AMPM conference was extended for an extra day—a change that remains this year! The call for papers and posters for both conferences is still open; share your research with the industry.

55th Anniversary of the PM Design Excellence Awards

2019 is a BIG year for the PM Design Excellence Awards. First, the industry will celebrate the program’s 55th anniversary. Even more importantly, the program has been restructured to allow the submission of metal additive manufactured components.

This major change to the competition has been achieved by dividing the competition into three major processing technologies for judging:

  • Conventional PM;
  • Metal injection molding; and
  • metal additive manufacturing.

This MPIF members’ only competition is currently accepting component submissions.

National Science Foundation Grant Program

Due to the success of the previous two years, the National Science Foundation (NSF) is providing a grant opportunity for students of U.S. institutions to attend POWDERMET2019 and AMPM2019. The grant covers the full registration fee and hotel accommodation in double-occupancy. This program provides 40 NSF students with the opportunity to share their research with industry elite and provides networking opportunities.
