PM Webinar Series Begins

In response to the rapidly changing global climate, the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) and APMI International have launched a complimentary, ongoing webinar series for 2020 and beyond for members.

Don’t Miss POWDERMET2019 & AMPM2019

In less than two weeks the powder metallurgy (PM) and metal additive manufacturing (AM) industries will descend on the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix, Arizona, for POWDERMET2019, International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials, and AMPM2019, Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy. Held June 23–26, 2019, at the Sheraton Grand, this year’s co-located conferences feature the most robust technical program yet and a sold-out exhibit hall.

Registration Opens for 2019 Metal Injection Molding Conference

Registration has opened for MIM2019: International Conference on Injection Molding of Metals, Ceramics and Carbides—the only international powder and metal injection molding conference of the year. MIM2019 is a global conference and tabletop exhibition that highlights advances in the powder injection molding (PIM) industry. The conference will take place in Orlando, Florida, at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista, February 25–27, 2019.

Gearing Up for POWDERMET2019 and AMPM2019

Be an Active Participant!

Save the date and plan to join the powder metallurgy (PM) and metal additive manufacturing (AM) industry in Phoenix, Arizona, June 23–26, 2019, for POWDERMET2019, the International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials, and the co-located conference AMPM2019, Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy. This year’s program is currently under development, but already an exciting program is lining up.

San Antonio Riverwalk Hosts PM Industry

The North American powder metallurgy (PM) industry headed to Texas earlier this week to stroll the famous San Antonio Riverwalk during POWDERMET2018 and AMPM2018. These co-located conferences brought together 872 delegates from 25 countries for four days of the latest research and development in powder metallurgy, particulate materials, and metal additive manufacturing, as well as annual industry awards presentations and networking.

Explore San Antonio’s Riverwalk with POWDERMET2018

Grab your cowboy boots and blue jeans and saunter down to Texas, because POWDERMET2018, the leading North American powder metallurgy (PM) and particulate materials conference, begins in less than two weeks in vibrant San Antonio, June 17–20, on the famous River Walk. The co-located conference Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy (AMPM2018) will kick-off at the same time.

Video Release: An Overview of Metal Injection Molding

The Metal Powder Industries Federation’s Industry Development Board (IDB) has released the third video in a four-part educational series on powder metallurgy (PM). “An Overview of Metal Injection Molding” (MIM) is hosted by PM industry leader John Engquist, FAPMI, past president of the Center for Powder Metallurgy Technology (CPMT). In addition to an overview of the MIM process, Engquist discusses industry market segments, case studies, and more.

New Networking Opportunities at PM Conferences

From attendees to exhibitors or from speakers to students, networking is one of the most important functions of a conference. POWDERMET2018, International Conference on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials, Grand Hyatt San Antonio, June 17–20, 2018, is gearing up to host several exciting new opportunities for attendees, opportunities that include attendees of the co-located conference AMPM2018, Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy. Don’t miss your opportunity to meet face-to-face with powder metallurgy (PM) researchers, students, exhibitors, and more.

Metal AM Used to Create Metallic Glass in Bulk

According to NC State News, researchers have now demonstrated the ability to create amorphous metal, or metallic glass, alloys on large scales using metal additive manufacturing technology, opening the door to a variety of applications—such as more efficient electric motors, better wear-resistant materials, higher strength materials, and lighter weight structures.

MIM2018 Concludes in California

MIM2018, International Conference on Injection Molding of Metals, Ceramics and Carbides, concluded in sunny Irvine, California, last week. This year’s MIM conference was the largest to date, breaking attendance records by more than 15%, with over 180 attendees representing 104 companies from 16 countries. A reception was held at molding machine manufacturer Arburg.
