We’re seeking an innovative researcher and educator with expertise in the synthesis, processing, and manufacturing of powder-based ceramics and metals, particularly in areas such as powder synthesis, high-entropy materials, and additive manufacturing for extreme environments and functional applications.

Manufacturing Engineer – Powder Metal Division

Amsted Automotive’s Powder Metal Division is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvement and innovation. In this role, you will evaluate, develop, and implement manufacturing processes for new and existing products, focusing on cost, quality, and efficiency. You’ll support APQP projects, lean manufacturing initiatives, automation design, and capital equipment planning while troubleshooting and improving production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support new product launches and major process changes.
  • Develop tooling knowledge, CAD designs, and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing engineering (powder metal preferred).
  • Knowledge of GD&T, automation systems, CAD, and lean manufacturing.
