In order to establish a better understanding of the current use and future opportunities of powder metallurgy components in modern automobiles, a team of engineers from Höganäs AB has recently stripped back three modern vehicles to their component parts. The chosen vehicles represent different geographical market preferences and latest powertrain technologies, including hybrid solutions. As well as discovering the exact content of PM in each vehicle, the team were able to identify numerous components that provide further PM conversion potential. The project findings, opportunities and next plans will be shared in the presentation.

Hotel Information and Room Rates
$179.00 single or double occupancy plus applicable state and local taxes, per night. Register early to guarantee the group rates at the hotel. Higher rates may apply once our room block is filled or after the advance registration deadline of September 22, 2017. Room reservations will be acknowledged by e-mail.

Deposit: A credit card is required in order to make your reservation. A deposit of one night's room and tax will be charged at the time of making the reservation.

Hotel reservation changes or cancellations: Any changes to your hotel reservation should be done directly through the hotel by calling 1-800-237-7600.

Cancellation Policy: 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date or you will be charged one night's room and tax.

Early departure fee: A charge of one night's room and tax will be charged to any guest who departs prior to their confirmed departure date. Departure dates can be changed up to and including time of check-in without penalty.

Check-in time: 3:00 pm
Check-out time: 12:00 pm
Taxes (per night): 10% (subject to change)
Parking: Complimentary parking (self and valet)

Attendance Restriction
Conference attendance is limited to employees of companies that are members of the Metal Powder Industries Federation. Attendance is not open to members of APMI International whose companies are not MPIF members.

Dress is business casual throughout the day for business meetings. For the reception events recommended dress is resort casual. Monday night's dinner will take place on the beach—casual attire is recommended.

Spouse/Guest Registration
Attendance for spouses or accompanying guests is encouraged. Registration fee is mandatory and covers both receptions, Monday night dinner and group breakfast. Fees do not include the Golf Tournament, or Monday lunch.

Meeting registration fees will be refunded using the following guidelines:

  • Written requests received by Friday, September 22 will receive a full refund
  • Written requests received by Friday, October 13 will receive minus a 20% cancellation charge
  • No refunds will be provided after Friday, October 13
  • Failure to attend or not provide written notice by the above dates are liable for the full fees
  • Golf tournament cancellations must be received by Friday, October 13

Age Restriction for Children
Children under the age of 17 are not permitted in conference events and group meal functions.

Registration/Hospitality Desk
An MPIF registration desk will be open during regular conference hours. Registration material can be picked up at the desk beginning Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

They call Florida the "Sunshine State" for a reason! During our time in Naples, attendees can expect temperatures in the mid- to upper-80s during the day and upper-60s in the evening/night.

Getting There
Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW)/Fort Myers has many major carriers who fly into the city. The airport is 33 miles (approximately 40 minutes) to the hotel.
