Powder Metallurgy Machinability Seminar Program Available

Registration has opened for the Powder Metallurgy (PM) Machinability Seminar, which will be held April 4–5, 2017, at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, State College, Pa.

This seminar focuses on improving company operations in terms of higher-quality parts, reduced costs, and greater profits. The seminar will feature programming focusing on fundamentals critical to increasing productivity and efficiency. Over two-full days, attendees will learn:

Effective February 1, 2017, James P. Adams assumed the position of executive director and CEO of Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) and APMI International following the January 31, 2017, retirement of C. James Trombino.

LAM 2017: Advancing Additive with Lasers

The Laser Institute of America's (LIA) annual workshop, Laser Additive Manufacturing (LAM), returns this year to discuss when, where, and how to use laser additive manufacturing. The keynote presentation features "Additive Manufacturing at GE: The Vision." This year's workshop will be held February 21–22, 2017, at the Hilton Houston North.

AMSC Standardization Roadmap for AM Seeks Comments

America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) have released for public review and comment a preliminary final draft of the AMSC Standardization Roadmap for Additive Manufacturing (Version 1.0) being developed by the America Makes & ANSI Additive Manufacturing Standardization Collaborative (AMSC). Final publication of the document is targeted for February 2017.
