PM-HIP Workshop to Advance Large-Scale Manufacturing Innovation

The Powder Metallurgy–Hot Isostatic Pressing (PM-HIP) Workshop 2026 will be held November 4–5, 2026, at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Knoxville, Tennessee. Organized by Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Electric Power Research Institute, and the Metal Powder Industries Federation, this two-day, in-person workshop will bring together experts from industry, government, academia, national laboratories, and professional associations to accelerate the development and adoption of PM-HIP technology.

Building on the momentum of the inaugural 2024 workshop, the 2026 program will feature plenary presentations, panel sessions, and interactive discussions focused on advancing PM-HIP for large-scale, high-performance components. Key topics will include addressing critical manufacturing challenges, strengthening domestic supply chains, identifying demonstration opportunities, and supporting broader industrial adoption across the nuclear, energy, oil and gas, aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors.

Workshop objectives include identifying technical priorities and manufacturing gaps, developing collaborative strategies to strengthen the domestic PM-HIP ecosystem, and fostering partnerships that accelerate technology transition and commercialization.
