MUNRO & ASSOCIATES FACILITY TOUR

Munro & Associates, specialize in lean design, tearing down automotive products to study and suggest improvements and innovations. Located in Auburn Hills, Michigan, the company performs electric vehicle benchmarking and consults in the aerospace, defense and medical sectors. The Munro Team has had a long and distinguished history in the Automotive Industry, having worked with most of the world’s OEMs and Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.  With over 40 years in the auto industry, Sandy Munro has been named, “The Teardown Titan” by the Society of Automotive Engineers.

In 1988, Sandy Munro started his own consultancy, Munro & Associates, specializing in lean design, tearing down automotive products to study and suggest improvements and innovations.   Located in Auburn Hills, Michigan, the company performs electric vehicle benchmarking and consults in the aerospace, defense and medical sectors.    The Munro Team has had a long and distinguished history in the Automotive Industry, having worked with most of the world’s OEMs and Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.  With over 40 years in the auto industry, Sandy Munro has been named, “The Teardown Titan” by the Society of Automotive Engineers.  

Sandy Munro gained larger public interest starting in February 2018 with videos containing detailed tear-down and analysis of the then-new Tesla Model 3.   With the success of that video,  Munro & Associates started their own channel, Munro Live, with tear-down and analysis of a variety of (mostly electric) vehicles and covering related topics around engineering and design methodologies.   In 2021, Munro broadcast a conversation with Elon Musk in Texas.  They discussed the production of Tesla automobiles, including details such as the use of large castings in place of assemblies and the in-house design and production of the seats.  In its first year, this interview received over three million views on YouTube.

Tour Cancellation Policy:

Written requests received up to Friday, March 3, 2022, will be subject to a $250 cancellation fee.  Registrants who fail to attend, and have not cancelled as noted above, are liable for the entire registration fee.

Such conduct includes, but is not limited to disrupting the businesslike atmosphere, harassment, discrimination, inappropriate language, failing to comply with local, state, and federal laws, and conduct that puts themselves and others at risk. This code of conduct applies to both official activities of the event and its program as well as to any informal and social activities taking place in connection with the event. Presenters, and any other Attendees who do not comply with this code of conduct may be removed from the event and barred from attending future MPIF/APMI/CPMT sponsored or co-sponsored events.
