Student Information

APMI International is a non-profit professional society which promotes the advancement of powder metallurgy (PM) and particulate materials as a science.  Its purpose is to disseminate and exchange information about PM and particulate materials through publications, conferences, and chapter meetings of the society.  Membership in APMI International is on an individual basis.  Corporate or company memberships are not available.  Members include materials, metallurgical, mechanical and process engineers, educators, students, businessmen and those whose job requires them to keep up-to-date with new developments and advances in materials technology and engineering applications.   

 Full-time students may participate in all APMI International activities, including local chapter meetings, and enjoy all membership privileges at the annual student membership rate of $25 ($40 overseas).  Students interested in PM and particulate materials will benefit from networking opportunities with industry personnel during chapter meetings, seminars, and conferences.  Some chapters have a student night in which one meeting is devoted entirely to students.  In addition, you will receive the most up-to-date news and technology reports through your free subscription to the International Journal of Powder Metallurgy.  APMI International also offers employment assistance to all its members.  As a student member, you may post a “position wanted” advertisement free of charge in the classified section of the Journal and on the MPIF/APMI International website.  Benefits of student membership include:
