APMI International is a non-profit professional society which promotes the advancement of powder metallurgy (PM) and particulate materials as a science. Its purpose is to disseminate and exchange information about PM and particulate materials through publications, conferences, and other activities of the society.
Membership in APMI International is on an individual basis. Corporate or company memberships are not available. Members include materials, metallurgical, mechanical, and process engineers; educators; students; business people, and those whose job requires them to keep up-to-date with new developments and advances in materials technology and engineering applications.
The powder metallurgy industry's leading publication, the Journal embraces a wide range of materials and processes including classical "press-and-sinter" powder metallurgy, metal injection molding, and advanced particulate materials. The Journal's editorial coverage features distinct aspects of the powder metallurgy industry.
Do you need one more good reason to join APMI International? E-learning courses are now available to all members in the Members Only area!
The courses include:
Course 101: Welcome to the World of Powder Metallurgy
This course defines PM technology, including powder production, consolidation, and the heating process, and includes historical background.
Course 102: Introduction to Compacting and Primary Press Functions
This course teaches the concepts related to compaction and compacting presses. It includes terminology definitions and demonstrates and defines the four MPIF classes of parts.
Course 103: Introduction to Sintering Fundamentals and Furnace Design
This courses teaches an introduction of sintering, including an overview of the furnaces involved in the process and a step-by-step depiction of the process.
