The program committee for the Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy Conference (AMPM2021) has issued a “Call for Papers & Posters” covering the latest developments in the fast-growing field of metal additive manufacturing (AM). The AMPM conference has grown significantly since its debut in 2014 as the only conference focused on metal AM. The 2021 conference will be held June 20–23 in Orlando, Florida, at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin.
An official call for presentations has been announced for MIM2021, International Conference on Injection Molding of Metals, Ceramics and Carbides, to be held February 22–24, 2021, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Potential authors have until September 30, 2020, to submit presentation abstracts on manufacturing innovations and material advancements. All abstracts accepted for presentation will require a PowerPoint submission prior to the conference.
WorldPM2020/AMPM2020/Tungsten2020 cancelled due to pandemic
Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) announced today the cancellation of the co-located conferences WorldPM2020, the World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials; AMPM2020, Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy; and Tungsten2020, the International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials that were scheduled to take place June 27–July 1, 2020, in Montréal, Canada.
The 10th International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials (Tungsten2020) program is now available. Since the conference was last held in 2014, explosive developments have been made in numerous fields, notably metal additive manufacturing (AM) using refractory metals and alloys, and their carbides. Explore the latest developments in Montréal, Canada, June 27–July 1, 2020, at the Montréal Convention Center.
Join the powder metallurgy (PM) industry for WorldPM2020, the World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials, in Montréal, Canada, June 27–July 1, 2020, at the Montréal Convention Center. Held only once every six years in North America, WorldPM2020 will be the largest global hub of PM; metal additive manufacturing (AM); and tungsten, refractory and hardmaterials technology transfer of the year.
The program for the Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy Conference (AMPM2020) is now available. Metal additive manufacturing (AM) is one of the powder metallurgy (PM) industry’s fastest growing fields. Join the metal AM industry in Montréal, Canada, June 27–July 1, 2020 at the Montréal Convention Center for the leading North American metal AM conference. Explore the latest technological developments, meet with industry experts, and discover the inherent capabilities of metal AM.

The program committee for the 2020 World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials (WorldPM2020) has issued a “Call for Papers & Posters” covering the latest developments in powder metallurgy (PM) materials, processes, and applications. Held once every six years in North America, this is only the second time the that the WorldPM2020 Congress will be co-located with the Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy Conference (AMPM2020) and the International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials (Tungsten2020). All three co-located events will be held in Montréal, Canada, June 27–July 1, 2020, at the Montréal Convention Center.
The program committee for the Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy Conference (AMPM2020) has issued a “Call for Papers & Posters” covering the latest developments in the fast-growing field of metal additive manufacturing (AM). The AMPM Conference has grown significantly since its debut in 2014 as the only conference focused on metal AM, and this year there will be an entire extra day of technical sessions. This is only the second time that the AMPM Conference will be held with the co-located World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials (WorldPM2020) will and the International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials. All three events will be held in Montréal, Canada, June 27–July 1, 2020, at the Montréal Convention Center.
The program committee for 10th International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials (Tungsten2020) has issued a “Call for Papers.” Refractory metals (W, Mo, Re, Ta, Nb, Os, Ir, Hf), their alloys and composites (including hardmaterials and cermets), are a unique family of materials. This conference seeks to address recent developments in the refractory and hardmetals field and will encompass refractory and hardmetal processing, microstructure, properties, and applications. Co-located with the World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials (WorldPM2020) and the Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy Conference (AMPM2020), this promises to be the largest global PM event of the year. All three co-located events will be held in Montréal, Canada, June 27–July 1, 2020, at the Montréal Convention Center.
An official call for presentations has been announced for MIM2020, International Conference on Injection Molding of Metals, Ceramics and Carbides, to b
e held at Hotel Irvine, March 2–4, 2020, in Irvine, California. Potential authors have until October 4, 2019, to submit presentation abstracts on manufacturing innovations and material advancements. All abstracts accepted for presentation will require a PowerPoint submission prior to the conference.
The winners in the 2019 Powder Metallurgy (PM) Design Excellence Awards competition, sponsored by the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF), demonstrate outstanding examples of PM’s diversity. These component fabricators use PM’s flexibility to push forward new concepts and process controls, and demonstrate the inexhaustible well of capabilities PM can marshal in the service of component design. Designers continue to choose PM for critical applications such as auto engines and transmissions, medical devices, consumer products, hardware, and more.
Nine Grand Prizes and seven Awards of Distinction have been given in this year's competition.
A special Task Force of MPIF Technical Board members met and selected, “Using Light and Electron Microscopy, Computed Tomography, and Light Scattering to Evaluate Additive Manufacturing Powders and Parts” by Thomas F. Murphy, FAPMI, Christopher T. Schade and Alexander D. Zwiren, Hoeganaes Corporation as the recipient of the AMPM2018 Best Paper Award from among the submitted manuscripts of the conference Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy 2018 (AMPM2018) held in San Antonio this past June.
The 2018 Howard I. Sanderow Outstanding Technical Paper Award has been selected from among the highly qualified manuscripts that were presented at the POWDERMET2018 conference in San Antonio. The manuscripts are critically evaluated by the MPIF Technical Board. This year’s winning paper is "Monitoring of Powder Homogeneity During Double-Cone Blending" by Alex Wartenberg, Sierra Mirtes, and Chris Schade, Hoeganaes Corporation, and Sarah Ackermann, C-Therm Technologies Incorporated.
