Distinguished Service to Powder Metallurgy Award Announced

The MPIF Awards Committee announced a 2018 Distinguished Service to Powder Metallurgy (PM) Award during POWDERMET2018, International Conference on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials, in San Antonio, Texas, June 17–20. The award recognizes individuals who have actively served the North American PM industry for at least 25 years and, in the minds of their peers, deserve special recognition.

PM Champion to Receive Award for Helping Advance Technology Applications

Chad Spore, staff engineer, Enterprise Materials Engineering, John Deere Waterloo Works Drivetrain Operations, Waterloo, IA, has been selected to receive the Vanguard Award from the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF). The award recognizes powder metallurgy (PM) industry champions from the end-user community whose long-time promotion of the technology has contributed to the expansion of powder metal applications. Spore is only the second person to receive the award since its inception in 2014. The award presentation will take place

International Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials Conference Program Launches

The North American conference on powder metallurgy (PM) and particulate materials has launched its 2018 conference program for POWDERMET2018: International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials. The conference will feature over 200 worldwide PM industry experts presenting on PM, particulate materials, and metal additive manufacturing at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, Texas, June 17–20, 2018. 2017 Outstanding Technical Paper Authors Announced

The 2017 Howard I. Sanderow Outstanding Technical Paper Award has been selected and the authors will be officially recognized during the Industry Luncheon to be held during POWDERMET2018 in San Antonio, June 17–20. This year's winning paper is "Deformation Processed Al/Al2Ca Nano-filamentary Composite Conductors" by Charles Czahor, Trevor Riedemann, Alan Russell, and Iver Anderson, FAPMI, Ames Laboratory/Iowa State University. The paper was selected from among the highly qualified manuscripts that were presented at the POWDERMET2017 conference in Las Vegas and critically evaluated for the prestigious award.

An official call for papers and posters has been announced for POWDERMET2018: International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials, June 17–20, 2018. This leading North American powder metallurgy (PM) conference will take place at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, Texas, and is seeking a wide variety of topics.
