PM Champion to Receive Award for Helping Advance Technology Applications

Chad Spore, staff engineer, Enterprise Materials Engineering, John Deere Waterloo Works Drivetrain Operations, Waterloo, Iowa, has been selected to receive the Vanguard Award from the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF). The award recognizes powder metallurgy (PM) industry champions from the end-user community whose long-time promotion of the technology has contributed to the expansion of powder metal applications. Spore is only the second person to receive the award since its inception in 2014.

POWDERMET2018 and AMPM2018 Technical Programs Organized

The Technical Program Committees for POWDERMET2018, International Conference on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials, and AMPM2018, Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy, met recently to assemble the program for the June 17–20 co-located conferences in San Antonio. Nearly 90 industry experts met to review abstracts for technical papers and presentations. The results of the committees’ diligent work:

Preliminary POWDERMET2018 & AMPM2018 Program Launches

Exciting news for those planning on attending the POWDERMET2018: International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials and co-located AMPM2018: Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy conference, June 17–20, at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. Registration information and a preliminary program is now available online. Due to the increased interest and overall success of these co-located conferences, registration fees have been reduced to encourage greater participation. Additionally, MPIF is taking steps to enhance the overall conference experience—including one fee for both conferences!

National Science Foundation Grant for PM Conference

The Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) is pleased to announce that, for the second year in a row, a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant will be provided to select students from U.S. colleges and universities to attend the POWDERMET2018 and AMPM2018 conferences in San Antonio, June 17–20. NSF Grant Awards will directly cover the full registration fee and hotel accommodation in double occupancy.

2017 Conference Proceedings and Presentations Now Available

The latest research from POWDERMET2017: International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials, and the co-located Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy, AMPM2017, has been released in two new electronic publications: Advances in Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials–2017 and AMPM2017 Conference Presentations.
