Metal Powder Organizations Unveil Enhanced Websites

The Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF), APMI International, and the Center for Powder Metallurgy Technology (CPMT) have launched enhanced websites that provide additional benefits to its associations and members.

New MPIF Standard 35 Materials Standard Released

The 2018 edition of MPIF Standard 35 – Materials Standards for PM Structural Parts has been released. This Standard is a must-have document and provides the design and materials engineer with the latest engineering property data and information available to specify materials for structural parts made using the PM process.

Charter Membership Is Open for AMAM

Companies specializing in one of the fastest growing metal-forming technologies, metal additive manufacturing (AM), have formed the Association for Metal Additive Manufacturing (AMAM). Housed underneath the Metal Powder Industries Federation, the world’s leading trade organization serving the interests of the metal powder producing and consuming industries, AMAM is composed of companies that wish to lead the direction of the metal AM industry.

MPIF Elects New Officers

John F. Sweet, PMT, president & CEO, FMS Corporation, Minneapolis, Minn., has been elected as the 29th president of the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF), succeeding Patrick J. McGeehan, Ametek Inc., Eighty Four, Pa. His two-year term will take effect at the conclusion of the Federation's annual Powder Metallurgy (PM) Management Summit and 73rd Annual MPIF Business Meeting, October 21–24, 2017, in Naples, Fla.

PM Industry Roadmap Updated

The Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF), with the aid of powder metallurgy (PM) industry leaders, has released an updated version of the PM Industry Roadmap. Due to significant technological advancements over the past five years, the 2017 PM Industry Roadmap has been updated to provide a detailed research agenda for the industry. This document addresses the vision for the PM industry, and includes a view of future customer and market expectations, as well as the goals designed to meet those expectations.
