After four successful conferences held in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and China, the conference PMTi2019: Powder Metallurgy (PM) and Additive Manufacturing (AM) of Titanium is coming to the United States for the first time. Join global experts on PM and AM processing of titanium and alloys at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, September 24–27, 2019 for academic exchange and technology transfer. Abstract submissions for presentations are now open.
From attendees to exhibitors or from speakers to students, networking is one of the most important functions of a conference. POWDERMET2018, International Conference on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials, Grand Hyatt San Antonio, June 17–20, 2018, is gearing up to host several exciting new opportunities for attendees, opportunities that include attendees of the co-located conference AMPM2018, Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy. Don’t miss your opportunity to meet face-to-face with powder metallurgy (PM) researchers, students, exhibitors, and more.
Chad Spore, staff engineer, Enterprise Materials Engineering, John Deere Waterloo Works Drivetrain Operations, Waterloo, Iowa, has been selected to receive the Vanguard Award from the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF). The award recognizes powder metallurgy (PM) industry champions from the end-user community whose long-time promotion of the technology has contributed to the expansion of powder metal applications. Spore is only the second person to receive the award since its inception in 2014.
Join the Laser Institute of America’s (LIA) 10th annual Laser Additive Manufacturing Conference (LAM) in Schaumburg, Illinois, March 27–28, 2018. LAM 2018 will discuss when, where, and how to use laser additive manufacturing including design, materials, modelling, and manufacturing applications.
Registration has opened for MIM2018: International Conference on Injection Molding of Metals, Ceramics and Carbides—the only international powder and metal injection molding conference of the year. To be held March 5–7, 2018, MIM2018 is a global conference and tabletop exhibition that highlights advances in the powder injection molding (PIM) industry. The conference will take place in Irvine, California, at the Hotel Irvine.
Exciting news for those planning on attending the POWDERMET2018: International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials and co-located AMPM2018: Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy conference, June 17–20, at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. Registration information and a preliminary program is now available online. Due to the increased interest and overall success of these co-located conferences, registration fees have been reduced to encourage greater participation. Additionally, MPIF is taking steps to enhance the overall conference experience—including one fee for both conferences!
It was another successful year for the PM Parts Compacting/Tooling Seminar. The seminar, held about every 18 months, dates back to 1989 and continues to educate a variety of people throughout the industry, mainly catering to powder metallurgy parts and product fabricators.
