As the voice of the North American powder metallurgy (PM) community, MPIF represents hundreds of PM companies from powder and equipment manufacturerers to parts makers and more. Our mission, to advance the interests of the metal powder producing and consuming industries, advanced in 2017 in many ways; however, there was a heavy focus on encouraging members to participate in our courses, seminars, and conferences.
One of our key achievements in 2017 was gaining funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to bring 40 college students to the annual POWDERMET and AMPM conferences. Exposing and encouraging the next generation of engineers to learn more about PM is a constant struggle. The aid of the NSF is a very exciting development for our industry, and one that will continue with our 2018 conferences.
Look forward to continued growth from MPIF throughout 2018 in for guise of our Basic PM Short Course, additional seminars, MIM2018, POWDERMET2018, and AMPM2018, as well as new marketing campaigns, multimedia, and more.
