INTRODUCING
APMI International
Excellence in Metallography Award
APMI is pleased to announce the new "Excellence in Metallography Award" to recognize the individual(s) responsible for metallography used to support and provide evidence for the ideas set forth in a conference technical paper.
Any MPIF/APMI annual conference author(s) submitting a publishable manuscript is eligible for consideration provided that:
- The primary author submits an “Excellence in Metallography Submission Form” with the Transfer of Copyright and the Final electronically-transferred (or mailed CD-ROM) manuscript to the offices of MPIF before the Replacement Manuscript Deadline.
- Any manuscript not in MPIF's possession by the Replacement Manuscript Deadline will not be considered for the award. There are NO exceptions to this rule.
- The primary author, not the Session Chairman, is responsible for submitting the manuscript and the submission form.
A specially selected Judging Committee will evaluate all eligible manuscripts. This committee will reach its final decision by the end of the year following the conference. The winning primary author(s) will be notified by e-mail or other suitable means.
A certificate award presentation will be made at the following year's technical conference and the Judging Committee will prepare a poster of the winning entry(ies). APMI will announce the award recipient(s) in all appropriate media and the paper will be published through the APMI PM Industry NewsLine. In addition, possible monetary awards, dependent on contributions from sponsors, will be provided.
