Powder Metallurgy:
The Preferred Metal-Forming Solution
A completely revised and updated version of the long-familiar Powder Metallurgy Design Solutions. This popular manual includes helpful and authoritative information for ready reference by designers, engineers, purchasing agents, and end users. Order enough for your own company use and for free distribution to your existing and potential customers. Keep a supply handy for future drade shows, plant visits, etc. Make sure your sales and marketing personnel have the latest tools to close the sale.
Profusely illustrated in full color, this booklet offers concise descriptions of every aspect of powder metallurgy suitable for novices as well as current users. From a brief explanation of the technology and its myriad benefits to a depiction of the process for making PM parts, from sections on engineering properties, material selection, and secondary operations to a short primer on proper approaches to designing for PM, this manual is an ideal introduction to the vast potential of this metal-forming technology. Powder forging, isostatic pressing, and metal injection modling are covered too, as is the variety of applications where PM is used. A host of information sources are offered, including an extensive bibliography.
Member companies can now customize the back of the booklet with an imprint that lets customers and prospects know who provided them with this wealth of valuable information. A minimum order of 50 copies is all that's necessary.

Fatigue Design Concepts
by C.M. Sonsino
Morris Sonsino’s work in
fatigue design of PM products has contributed greatly to the
store of PM data however, even more
significant is his ability to provide design engineers with guidelines
on the unique characteristics of PM materials and hence on the
design concepts and rules appropriate to PM products.
This title represents
a very important “tool” for the PM structural parts industry
in its promotion of the use of PM products in high performance applications.
The publication
proceeds to give solid information on the required fatigue notch
factors for the presence of external notches and the approach to
allowing for mean stress effects. These differ significantly from
the factors normally applied for wrought products. In particular,
the relatively low notch sensitivity of PM materials is emphasized.
