Criteria for
Metal Powder Industries Federation
PM Industry Landmark
(Approved 2007, Revised 2010)

Purpose
To recognize PM products, production processes, equipment systems and/or materials, which

a. represent a well-established application that has made a significant impact in PM usage and/or
b. the design of which represents a significant PM innovation. 

Eligibility and Qualifications
The cited application or product must be currently in use or in commercial production and/or successfully functioning in the industry or marketplace.   

This application or product should demonstrate any or all of the following:  improved quality, properties, cost-savings and/or product or process performance.

Method of Selection and Administration
Candidates for the PM Industry Landmark shall be proposed through a cooperative effort of the MPIF Technical Board and Industry Development Board after collaboration on the engineering/technical merits and/or marketplace promotional value of the candidate(s).

In order to be presented at the annual MPIF conference, recommendations shall be submitted with supporting documentation to the MPIF Awards Committee for consideration by November 30.

The MPIF Awards Committee will recommend proposed recipient(s) to the MPIF Board of Governors for final approval.

Presentation
The Landmark is presented on an ad hoc basis.
 
Depending on the nature of the application or product, the award may be singular or it may be a joint award presented to the appropriate firms that collaborated on the application or innovation such as suppliers and/or end use customers, etc. or, in the absence of absolute confirmation of the original source, designer or producer, the Landmark may be presented as an industry recognition.
